In between Chapter III and IV

The idea for this phase…

As we are nearing the moment to launch an MVP, we begin to visualize how our service would look like. The first steps will be to look what’s already there, what we need and what we want. We do this by scanning as much as existing related documentation and taking those parts that speak to us. These parts get together in idea boards, mood boards, inspiration boards, …

Next up, is a first wireframe of the application from ‘Quiver’. This is going to be developed in ‘Adobe XD’. After several meetings and brainstorms around the platform we want to provide, which aspects it should contain and how they should look like, we begin to have a first idea of the layout. The idea is now to visualize it without a lot of effort (no coding for example) since we know it will still change a lot. It is necessary to get feedback and new inputs of the target audience. When we have the wireframe, we will let these action sports fanatics interact with the wireframe and asking for opinions, things they like and dislike, …

The next step is to set up the MVP as an online platform where we bring all these people together with the product and make an open environment where we develop the platform side-by-side with the targeted audience. Keeping this close and open relationship will not only be of great benefit for the development of the platform, but will create that community feeling around Quiver already.

First things first… Let’s take a look at the trends!

As we are looking for the layout for our application and how to make it attractive, we are looking at the latest UI and UX trends. In one of the sources, we found two very interesting trends that apply directly on the style we want to use for Quiver.

A last influence during this phase that is really worth mentioning is an article concerning CX trends in digital transformation. https://www.capgemini.com/2017/11/customer-experience-trends-in-digital-transformations/

experience innovation happening on three fronts:

- Continue enhancing the touch points to create better micro-experiences for the brand

- Enhance brand affinity by integrating the context of the user to the experience

- Establish a larger connect with customer with a stronger support model with the brand key focus themes for CX transformation:

- Simple

- Natural

- Owning

- Connecting

Mood boards, Idea boards Inspiration boards, information boards, ...

Next to UX, UI and CX trends, we took a peek at related and ‘competing’ applications to see how they apply these trends, approach their audience and shape their product. After several weeks, we put all this information in a couple of boards we can use to keep close to us during the design and development of our product.

Right before Rotterdam

The moment before we are expected in Rotterdam for an intensive week around business models and strategies, we are in the middle of the development of our wireframes. In the following GANTT chart, the project schedule how we imagine it now is pictured.
